ASSEMBLYMAN FINCH ANNOUNCES GRANTS FOR

Aurora Free Library, Springport Free Library, Sherburne Public Library,
Peck Memorial Library, Phillips Free Library and Tappan-Spaulding

"Libraries are an important part of our communities
that provide residents with access to an almost unlimited bounty of
information," said Finch. "Child or adult, if you need to find
information, look at your local library. Or if you simply want to find a
good book to read, you'll be able to find that as well."
The grants total almost $285,000. Funding will be
given to each library as follows: Lisle Free Library, $6,820; Aurora
Free Library, $51,000; Springport Free Library, $5,030; Sherburne Public
Library, $9,938; Peck Memorial Library, $12,174; Phillips Free Library,
$65,623; and Tappan-Spaulding Memorial Library, $133,690.
The grants will be used for upgrades to various parts
of the libraries, such as additional wings and replacement of lighting,
ceilings, bathrooms and other infrastructure. It will also be used to
upgrade equipment and furniture and purchase new equipment.
"We need to ensure that our libraries are kept in
excellent shape and have the most up-to-date equipment," Finch stated.
"These grants will go a long way towards ensuring that they are kept in
top shape."
