Finch Questions Judgment of Gov’s Lax DMV Policy

The governor’s decision to ease DMV requirements to get a state driver’s license creates a serious threat to our state’s security.  Rescinding policies that protect the general welfare of the people is a sign of poor judgment.  Spitzer’s decision potentially allows terrorists to gain access to valid state drivers’ licenses with relative ease.  We should be discussing important changes with the public and allow legislative input instead of making administrative changes that drastically affect homeland security.

I am calling on the governor to reconsider his move and bring this matter to a public forum before beginning the implementation of policy changes.
