Statement from Assemblyman Gary D. Finch

Issue: Gov. Spitzer’s Poll Ratings

     Newly released poll numbers from the Siena Research Institute show a majority of New Yorkers oppose Governor Eliot Spitzer’s plan to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses.  Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C –Springport) issued the following statement in response to the poll results:

     “To say that this is a stunning reversal of fortune for someone elected with an historic mandate last year is a tremendous understatement.  What we have here is an indication that Spitzer’s closed-door policy making is exactly what New Yorkers do not want their governor doing.”
