     Assemblyman Gary D. Finch (R,C –Springport) is reminding Cayuga County residents to apply for their Middle Class Star rebate. Finch cited a recent report that over 14,000 Central New Yorkers have not returned applications for the state property tax rebate checks for which they are entitled.

     “If your household has not submitted the application for the Middle Class STAR rebate this year, I encourage you to do so immediately,” said Finch.  “The Legislature this year created this new, larger rebate with amounts ranging from $200 to $600, and I encourage you to take advantage of the new program.”

     The deadline to apply is December 31, 2007.

     “If you have not received your application, the state has created a dedicated, toll-free hotline to address concerns and questions about the Middle Class STAR rebate program.  It can be reached by calling 1-877-678-2769.”
